Allen C. Walker Sr. was born to Sheila Walker on June 12, 1973 in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. At the tender age of 4 his grandfather who was a minister moved him to Macon, Georgia. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1992, after which he joined the United States Army and served six and one half years. Reverend Walker’s hard work allowed him to excel in rank and successfully became a sergeant, and after his tour of duty, he returned home to Macon Georgia from New York in 1998.
Reverend Walker accepted the call to preach the gospel in 2003, and preached his first sermon on October 17, 2003 at Vision of Jesus Church under the leadership of Reverend Reggie Williams. In 2004 Reverend Walker received his license from the Evangel Fellowship International Ministries. While at Vision of Jesus Church an evangelistic ministry began and was able to reach well over 1,000 people. Reverend Walker was also served as a van driver/coordinator and maintenance man for the church.
On May 16, 2004, Reverend Walker joined Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David L. Stanley, Sr. On November 7, 2004 he preached his initial sermon under the Baptist faith and on May 28, 2006 he became an ordained minister of the gospel. While at Union Baptist, he was responsible for the monthly Communion getting to the sick and shut in members. As well as created a New Members Orientation class, designed a curriculum and graduated well over 200 members in the three years the ministry was under his leadership while at Union Baptist.
November 19th 2011, Reverend Allen C. Walker Sr. was called to become the Pastor at Hazzard Baptist Church. Under Pastor Walker’s guidance Hazzard has purchased additional land for growth, started a Van ministry, New Member Class, Pastor Support Ministry and Women’s Ministry. As a leader he has rolled up his sleeves and worked with members to make their church home great.
Reverend Walker’s greatest passion is teaching God’s Word, by breaking down the Word in a simple form and fashion that even the youngest person can understand and get the message. His greatest belief is that: “a message is only, as good as the legs that carry it out the door”.
Reverend Walker is known for his illustrations and youthfulness of heart for preaching and teaching the Word. His greatest joy is for people to SIMPLY get it!
Reverend Walker is married to his lovely wife, Kelly Denerson-Walker and is the proud father of two beautiful children, Allen Walker, II and Destiny Walker.
For now, he is currently employed full time at the United States Postal Service, but by faith his desire is that one day in the Lord’s timing he will become a full time Pastor.
